Visa applicants for Austria are herewith informed that in certain cases the Embassy might require a ”Return Declaration”.
In such cases the formular ”Ausreisebestätigung” becomes part of the Visa process and it is mandatory for the applicant to appear at VFS in person in order to sign a letter of understanding in front of the VFS-officer of the Austrian desk. At the time of signing the declaration and collection of the passport a second proof of ID (eg. Voters ID or driving license in original) has to be presented.
Representatives/Travel agents are not accepted within this procedure. In case of non-compliance the passport will be returned to the Austrian Embassy for re-consideration.
Subsequent and at the time of return resp. final departure of the Schengen area the formulary ”Ausreisebestätigung” has to be actively presented by the traveler to the “Border Police Officer” at the Airport and shall be approved by this authority (eg. at the Passport Checkpoint at Vienna Airport before entering the international zone for check-in procedure).
After returning to India the approved formulary “Ausreisebestätigung” shall be returned to the Embassy of Austria by mail, e-mail, in person or through any VFS-Office within two weeks time.

Please note that with effect from 1 June 2011 the timings for submission of applications at the Joint Schengen visa application centre, Delhi have been changed to:
Application Centre timings for submission
0800-1100 hrs and 1300-1430 hrs on all working days (except holidays).
Passport Collection: 0800-1200 hrs Monday-Friday (For collection of passports received from the Embassy previous day)
1300-1600 hrs Monday-Friday (For collection of passports received from the Embassy same day). |

As Per the New European Union Visa Code a valid travel document to be considered: |

Not older than 10 years when applying for a visa
Valid at least 3 months (90 days) after intended stays ends
2 blank pages(one for sticker, one for border stamps) |

All Applicants/Representatives/Travel Agents are requested to furnish a photocopy of the passport photo-page duly stamped at VFS Austrian Visa Application Centre at the time of collection of Amendment letter/Statement. In lieu to the above mentioned information it is mandatory for any Representative/Travel Agent to produce an authorization letter effectively signed by the intended traveler. |
